http://www.tiffanymoore.net/blog/2012/4/9/why-sharing-is-bullshit-and-you-should-stop-being-nice.html
I’ve been struggling with oversharing and possibly losing business because of it. This was a message I needed to hear.
I checked out Launch Grow Joy’s blog and saw this article…
http://launchgrowjoy.com/10-sites-every-etsy-seller-should-subscribe-to/#
As an Etsy seller, still learning the ropes as I’m jumping full in, I need all the help I can get. I’ll be subscribing and adding the sites in this article to my Pulse reader.
On Handmade Success’s blog, I chose this article…
http://handmadesuccess.com/2012/01/5-marketing-misconceptions-busted/
I read this one last year and it helped me tremendously. I followed the points and stopped stressing about whether I’m charging too much. I still think my prices might be a little low for the one of a kind product I make, but I’m working it out. (did the price visualization the other day and increased prices, it’s starting to feel right)
The article that caught my attention on Start of Happiness was…
http://www.startofhappiness.com/power-delayed-gratification/
“choosing healthy to get energy later” is the one sentence that hit home and it’s 10 seconds into the article. He makes a lot of good points. I need to bookmark this one and journal about it when it’s not 4am.

The Start of Happiness, has some great posts this one was written to me for sure. Can’t Sleep at Night? Here’s Why You Should be Jumping Out of Bed!
1. Shared on FB with joy.
2. Already Liked you on FB, but went and checked just to be 100% sure! (username: Terra Dei Farm)
3. Pinned the pants off of it. Pinterest Link: http://pinterest.com/pin/6966574395576759/
4. Tweeted faster than you can say “Tweet”.
5. Already follow you (and love you) on Twitter.
6. Not exactly a blog post- which are all good – but I really (really) liked Tiffany Han’s “My (Real) Story” on her website. Genius and right on the money.
7. Oooooh, I also love and follow Andreea – so it is hard to pick a favorite Launch Grow Joy post. I went and re-read some favorites and decided -at this moment in time – “Do you use this word in your sales calls and emails?” – is quite timely for me. Its an oldie, but goodie.
8. I really enjoyed “5 Marketing Misconceptions, Busted!” on Handmade Success – but will definitely be going back to add my name to the newsletter and read more!
9. I could really relate to the “Can’t Sleep At Night” post on The Start of Happiness site.
10. I’ve mentioned you and this give-away in this blog post: http://www.terradeifarm.com/blog/name-goat-january-giveaway
Thanks!!
I’ve put stuff on FB & Twitter & followed you.
My pin is at: http://pinterest.com/pin/268808671480657200/
My favorite Tiffany Han post is the one about not sharing. In my niche, needlepoint, people want you to share & tend to get cranky if you actually do more modern marketing things, such as email notices. I need to do better about not being nice.
My favorite Launch Grow Joy post is about getting more Pinterest followers. I’m doing pretty good on Pinterest but want more followers.
My favorite Handmade Success post is about making your blog look more professional. My blog needs a redesign & I’m taking her advice to heart.
I blogged about the contest at: http://www.nuts-about-needlepoint.com/contest-to-improve-your-creative-business/
In the post you’ll see some of my motivation for entering. I’m a needlepoint designer, teacher, writer & evangelist. I want to make needlepoint the knitting of the next decade.
BUt it’s tremendously hard. I don’t fit into most categories, so I have to adapt everything. It’s an odd niche so people tend not to understand it. And, worst of all my audience is made up of two groups with opposing ideas about marketing. The Baby Boomers who stitch resent people who aren’t establishment (like me), want people to play nice and don’t like modern marketing (they hate me because I”m not establishment promoting stuff when they are fine with establishment people doing so). But younger people like what older people hate.
I want to attract lots of new people without losing the old, so it’s tough and I’d love to win to get your help.
Keep Stitching,
Janet

Of course my favorite post on Marketing Creativity right now is the post advertising this wonderful giveaway!

I like what Tiffany is saying about social media. That even 15 minutes is enough. I was spending way to much. Then wondering where my day went. No creativity happening.
From Tiffany Han, I like the post “moving beyond the buzz and into PURPOSE.”
From launchgrowjoy, I love the post about “Twitter for business? What should I do on Twitter?”

I visited Tiffany Han’s blog & really enjoyed the post “The Thing About Crickets.” Here’s my favorite line: “And that’s the funny thing about crickets – sometimes they can make you feel all alone out there, and convince you that it’s time to give up. But sometimes, they have the ability to make you see what’s bigger – that there is an entire world out there waiting for you to actually care so much about something that you’re willing to go all in, no matter what, because it’s that important.”

Have liked Marketing Success on facebook. Visited Tiffany Han and I like her word for 2013 post. It is so positive and proud of what she can do – the opposite to me!! Tiffany Han is, from what I just learned, very talented! The post I connected with most and left feeling so inspired from, is “the thing about crickets” (http://www.tiffanymoore.net/blog/2012/11/1/the-thing-about-crickets.html)
It described exactly my feelings, and sudden insecurities when i first opened my etsy shop, waiting for the world to find and love my shop. and that first sale meant the world to me the way she talked about her first sign-up… her summary/moral of the story is the inspiring part, that I actually saved and plan to print to keep on my desk…
“The crickets help highlight what’s worth fighting for, worth going to the mat for – what’s that important that you’d risk looking like a fool, or having to ask for help to see happen? What’s worth seeing through even when it isn’t easy? “

Lots of great articles on Handmade Success, but this one stands out for me: http://handmadesuccess.com/2011/04/5-step-formula-for-writing-handmade-product-descriptions-that-sell/ (although I also just picked up some blog tips and a few eco-friendly packaging ideas too!)
This article on The Start of Happiness really made me smile! http://www.startofhappiness.com/cant-sleep-at-night-heres-why-you-should-be-jumping-out-of-bed/ Tonight when I can’t sleep I am going to take the advice and jump out of bed!
Thanks for sharing all of this awesome stuff!

Launch grow joy, Twitter for business? What should I do on Twitter?, mind blown
Handmade Success, That’s a Wrap. Helps me a ton when it comes to packaging.
Eeek!! Can’t wait to see the winners announced!
Launch Grow Joy: I loved learning about Andrea Ayers and her Project Marketing Breakthrough and the 4 introductory videos. She very clear, easy to follow, offers great tips, I loved especially the first video since I can relate a lot to it, I made the same mistakes at the beginning when it comes to market positioning, branding identity, marketing and so on. I would love to participate to her program but unfortunately my budget this year doesn’t allow me to do that. Maybe next year!

I can’t believe I missed this deadline! The timing is amazing, I just a few weeks ago decided it was time to stop treating my Etsy store and photography business as a hobby and make it my full time job. Oh well, I’m hoping you hold another contest like this, and I’ll tweet, blog and facebook until I’m blue in the face!
I shared this post!
