25 Before 2025: A Goal-Setting Challenge

It’s that time again! Today I’m listing 25 goals I want to complete before 2025, and I’m challenging YOU to play along. You have until the end of 2024 to complete all 25 mini-goals on your list.

I created my 25 before 2025 by first doing a rapid log, which is a bullet journal-inspired list of goals to be completed, aka a brain dump. I listed everything I’d like to accomplish with the last half of the year, and then I organized those into twenty-five major goals to accomplish.

I talk you through this exercise in this Instagram reel.

Here are a few more prompts to get you started:

  • Consider what you need to clear out of the way before you can really get to work on next year’s big goals.
  • What unfinished business needs attended to so you can end this year with a clean slate?
  • Which projects need more research, or simply let go of, so you can make room for more of what you want to enter your life?
  • What or whom do you need to say “no” to right now?
  • Which people, activities and events do you want to be present for with the rest of 2024?
  • What would have to happen in this last half to make 2024 feel like an absolute success?

My 25 Before 2025

As an example and after considering the goals I set at the start of 2024, here are my 25 before 2025 — these are my 25 things I’d like to accomplish before 2025.

#1 Batch & schedule promos for YBY

It’s Your Best Year: Life and Business season! And, I don’t have any anchor content that helps share more about it. I’ve been batching posts to schedule throughout the end of the year.

#2 Finish my “A Room of One’s Own”

Oh, I’ve been obsessed with this idea since I read Virginia Woolf in high school. As my children have been growing up and out of the home, I reserved a spare bedroom just for me. A space of my own, a door to close, and plenty of privacy reserved for writing. I’ll have to share more about this soon!

#3 Decision deadline: To podcast or not?

The goal here is not to actually launch the podcast, but to finally decide. Will I or won’t I? I’ve been hemming and hawing on this one far too long.

#4 Declutter my home > Donate/sell/trash the excess

#5 Sort, organize, and donate unwanted holiday décor

#6 Deep clean & redesign my daughter’s (just-moved-to-college) bedroom

#7 Learn how to design spreadsheets!

I’m over here entirely geeking out about what you can do and design with spreadsheets! Carving some time out to learn more.

#8 Plan a monthly date night/trip with my husband

#9 Share my new e book: 18 Questions with the world!

I’ve written a book titled, 18 Questions That Will Forever Change the Way You Do Business, and my list subscribers get it for free. Not on my list yet? Grab your copy right here.

#10 Create a new routine for fall

Here are the simple 5 steps I’m following to recreate my routine for the new season.

#11 Book a family beach trip for summer 2025

#12 Set up all organizers

I’m doing some kind of reverse nesting as I get closer “empty nesting.” I don’t want to talk about it. Anyway, I have every kind of organizer waiting to be built in my home: gym organizer, garage organizer, bookshelves, etc. I need to get organized on the home organizers!

#13 Complete plants/propagation projects

This is another symptom of the above. I’ve got a million hobbies going right now; it’s a thing.

#14 Finish EOS studies/info processing

I’m doing this one for work, but I love the EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) for entrepreneurs — you can learn more about it here.

#15 Outline & pitch a new business course

Maybe for work, maybe something I endeavor on my own, but I’m loving simple systems and building more structure for entrepreneurs — I especially relate to personal brands. I’m planning on developing a program soon.

#16 Complete my goal setting to the now spread

This is an exercise from Getting Things Done that I absolutely love. I want to complete it in my journal before the New Year.

#17 Cook on a campfire

#18 Deep clean in PA

My family owns and operates an Airbnb in my hometown. Oh, I just love it. I can hardly wait to get up there, have the place all to myself, get into every nook and cranny, and make it feel like new again.

#19 Take the family zombie shooting

Another PA thing, we shoot Zombies with paintball guns, pulled by a tractor, amongst fields of corn! It is a Halloween favorite.

#20 Create my own banana dessert recipe

I’m obsessed with high protein, low calorie dessert recipes right now, and I love banana-flavored everything. I’m going to make my own concoction!

#21 Celebrate wrapping day!

This is my favorite to share because, each year, more and more readers adopt this tradition. It’s so fun! I block my schedule for a day in December when the children are in school. I play Christmas movies and music all day, drink wine and eat delicious breads and cheeses for lunch, pull all of the presents out of hiding and just wrap! It’s one of my favorite days of the whole year.

#22 Host a holiday gathering

#23 Relax and relish my upcoming travel schedule

#24 Celebrate a wellness weekend

This is too involved a process for this post, but I plan on sharing full details soon!

#25 Hunker down for cozy annual planning

Yes, please!

Okay, if you’re with me this far, be sure to follow me on Instagram where I’ll be sharing updates and checking in on your 25 before 2025 throughout the rest of the season! Here’s to Your Best Year yet!
