Your Best Years were made to evolve with you and your business. If you’re not familiar with the history, I built a customized business planner back in 2014 for myself. I needed a way to organize and gain a better perspective on my business. The planner worked so well for me that I listed it for sale on my blog and Amazon.com, and it quickly reached best-selling status in its category.

Though it was well-received, Your Best Year 2014 was printed in color (making it expensive to print for both physical + digital owners). It was a bulky 200+ pages, most of which were complete weekly calendars for a 15-month spread. I found this not only cumbersome, but wasteful. February is still a best-selling month for the project, and in this edition, that meant four months worth of wasted paper. I vowed never to make that mistake again!

I was absolutely blown away by the success of 2014, and before long, Your Best Year 2015 was released to even more success! In last year’s edition, I streamlined the book down to a thin 78 pages, organized the goal-setting exercises into a tidy 10-step process, and made the book black and white to increase its affordability.

Your Best Year 2015 doubled the previous year’s results in both sales and success. I myself loved the 10-step process, but found the book lacked in follow-through. I don’t know about readers, but after the New Year’s review and reflection were over, I never felt called back to the book in reference or review. I created an entirely separate system to hold myself accountable to the big plans I’d made, and I knew early on that I would need to incorporate that sense of accountability and goal-tracking into Your Best Year 2016.

I love telling you what was wrong with previous editions of Your Best Years because it goes to show how much I think about this project and work to improve it with each passing year.
